Testing and Diagnosis
HIV test: A blood or oral swab test can detect HIV.
Window period: It may take 2–4 weeks after exposure for HIV to show in a test.
Early testing is key for treatment and prevention.
Treatment (ART)
ART (Antiretroviral Therapy) is the standard treatment.
It doesn’t cure HIV but helps control it, allowing people to live long, healthy lives.
ART reduces the virus to undetectable levels, making it untransmittable (“U=U”).
